Project Administrators and Project Moderators can preview a role’s Data Room experience using the Preview as this role feature. This feature ensures that the user or group has the appropriate access for their role. You can access the preview feature through the Manage Users – Groups page, the Share icon, and the Permissions & Sharing icon.

Manage Users – Manage Groups Page
You can preview a Group's role access from the Manage Users – Groups page.
- Click the Manage Users icon on your Home page.
- Select Groups from the left sidebar, hover over a group, and click the Modify Permissions lock icon. The page displays a list of your Data Rooms.
- Select a role from the drop-down menu and click the Preview as this group eye icon. The page automatically displays a preview of the Data Room. The preview limits the user's access based on the selected role.
- Click the X in the role preview banner in the top right to stop previewing.
Share Icon
You can preview role access for the Data Room using the Share icon (silhouette) at the top of the Data Room page. Preview is available for groups and users.
Groups Tab
- Click the Share icon to display the Groups tab.

The Share pop-up displays a role drop-down menu next to each Group in your list. Select a role from the drop-down, click the horizontal ellipsis (...), and select Preview Group.
- The page automatically displays a preview of the Data Room. The preview limits the user's access based on the selected role.
- Click the X in the role preview banner in the top right to stop previewing.
Users Tab
- Click the Share icon and click the Users tab.
- Select a role from the drop-down menu and click the Preview as this role eye icon.
- The page automatically displays a preview of the Data Room. The preview limits the user's access based on the selected role.

Permissions & Sharing Icon
You can preview role access when sharing a folder or file using the Permissions & Sharing icon (eye and silhouette). Preview is available for groups and users.
Groups Tab
- Hover over a folder or file and click the Permissions & Sharing icon (eye and silhouette) to display the Groups tab.
- The Permissions & Sharing pop-up displays a role drop-down menu next to each Group in your list. Select a role from the drop-down, click the horizontal ellipsis (...), and select Preview Group.
- The page automatically displays a preview of the folder or file within the Data Room. The preview limits the user to the folder or file that was selected.
- Folders: The preview is limited to the folder that you selected and the What’s New section only displays folders and files from the shared folder.
- Documents: The preview is limited to viewing the file you selected. Navigation links to access other pages in the Data Room are removed. Access to the file preview, download, print, versions, and other features displayed depending on the role access level granted.
