Move or copy folders and files within your Data Room or to a different Data Room with ease. Efficiently manage your Data Room ensuring that your files are organized and accessible where needed.
A common use of this feature is to first establish a staging room for organizing all the folders and files related to a deal. Once you properly arrange everything, move the items to a user-accessible Data Room. This process ensures a well-organized Data Room before presenting the deal details to the relevant parties.
- From the Data Room Files section, click the checkbox on the far right of the folders and files you want to move or copy. You can click the checkbox on the toolbar to select all folders and files currently displayed.
- Click the Move/Copy button at the top of the toolbar.
- Select the Data Room from the drop-down (if necessary), the destination location, and click the Move or Copy button. The Data Room moves or copies the folders and files and immediately displays them in their new location.
Moving: Moves the selected folders and files from the current location to the chosen location and does not leave a copy behind. The Data Room copies any user permissions for the folders/files to the new location.
Copying: Copies the selected folders and files from the current location to the chosen location and leaves the original folders and files in place. The Data Room does not retain any user permissions for the folders/files after the move.
